The Hawk – Headed parrot is a unique bird as this is the only parrot in its genus. Its one of the most striking Parrots you will ever come across. It can be easily recognised by its ruff of dark red feathers over the nape and hind neck. These are unusually long and can be raised at will.
Hawk-heads will make good pets and will learn to say few words. Not as noisy as some other Parrots of same size can be. Hawk –heads need to be well socialised from young as they can be very jealous. With the right training they will make good pets.
